HRV is one of the most powerful biomarkers available to you. Here is what it actually measures and why it matters for intentional living.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is not a measure of how fast your heart beats. It is a measure of the variation between beats โ and it is one of the most information-rich biomarkers currently available to non-clinical users.
High HRV (within appropriate ranges for your age) indicates a nervous system that is flexible, responsive, and capable of rapidly shifting between states. Low HRV is associated with stress, poor sleep, cardiovascular risk, and reduced cognitive performance.
